December Stitching

The tree is up, the lights are twinkling, and sparkly decorations are all around the house. This is the time of year when we like to slow down. For me, I love to curl up on the living room floor, surrounded by a stack of books and holiday magazines, a soft throw and a poofy kitty on my lap. I’ll read and look up at the Christmas tree, and breathe deep the joy and stillness of the season.

I’ve been enjoying every moment of stitching Cozy Cocoa Stand. First, I “built” the wooden stand, and the adorable chalkboard sign.

The darker stitches of the chalkboard were stitched last. And then I strung the twinkle lights.

Finally, I stitched the little laddie, all bundled up in his stripey scarf and Santa hat. Of course, now he needs some mugs in which to serve the hot cocoa. ☕

I can’t wait to finish stitching the snow and snowflakes and Christmas tree, and finally, the sweet little lady in her yellow coat. ❄
