Sunlit Summer
The frosty sorbet colors of my Frozen Custard shawl (pattern: ‘Serene Lines’ by Terese Auestad,) are making me so happy during these hot summer days. One of my favorite parts of the pattern involves a great many double-crochets, which cause a ruffling of the shawl’s edge. But the next row straightens out the ruffle, and creates the beautiful ridge that defines this shawl. It’s just lovely.

I’ve gotten a few questions about what yarn and colors I’m using for my shawl, so here are the details:
The yarn I’m using is Lion Brand Baby Soft. It’s super-soft, and comes in an array of richly colored pastels. I’m using a 4.5mm hook. The colors, top of shawl to bottom, are: Mint, Lemonade, Lemon Drop, Apricot, Petal, and…I’m not sure what will come after that. Probably Little Boy Blue. The Baby Soft yarn line has so many beautiful colors, it’s easy to combine any of them and create something very pretty.

The shawl is growing quite nicely, and I’m very excited to add the next color (Petal.)

If you’re curious about the quilt block in the background, it’s called the Toadstool Cottage Quilt Block, and it’s coming soon to the Trellis & Thyme pattern shop! ๐๐งก๐
