Summer has officially arrived, and with it, another pattern in our ‘Welcome…’ cross stitch series!
Introducing, Welcome Summer!
I love the sweet and quick-stitch vignettes that make this series. It’s been fun thinking of the perfect little scene to represent each new season. Summer has so many possibilities – seaside? poolside? picnic? Of course, the garden won, because I’m a garden girl through and through.
This sweet pattern features a little farmer boy in a golden straw hat, denim overalls, and of course, green wellies. Bees buzz about the garden’s pride and joy – summer’s first giant yellow sunflower.
Growing sunflowers is always on my list of summer to-dos. It’s not quite summer without them gracing the garden. We’ve grown many lovely varieties, but my favorite are the heirlooms. They’re big and bright and beautiful, and positively tufted with pollen. The honeybees love it!
